Now on the Atlassian Marketplace

See who can see and change what in Jira.

Ledgerstone gives Jira admins a one-page answer to "is our Jira more open than we think?", and tracks it week over week. Read-only. Nothing leaves Atlassian.

Demo

See it in 78 seconds

The real app on a test site: the overview, each tab, and what it can and cannot touch. Captions on screen, music in the background.

What it checks

Findings, not data dumps

High means public or admin-level access for everyone. Medium means every logged-in user. One verdict line tells you where you stand.

Permission schemes

Grants open to anonymous visitors or every logged-in user, project by project.

Shared filters & dashboards

What's shared publicly or with everyone, and who owns it.

Roles, groups & accounts

Over-broad role assignments and inactive accounts still sitting in admin groups.

Weekly trend

An unattended weekly run keeps twelve results and shows what changed.

Access check

Shows exactly what Ledgerstone can read, as the app and as you, so a gap in coverage is never silent.

Run it now

Admins can refresh the audit on demand after making a fix.

Getting started

From install to your first audit in about five minutes. You need to be a Jira administrator.

  1. InstallInstall Ledgerstone on your Jira Cloud site from its Atlassian Marketplace listing. It asks only for read-only Jira permissions. Sites with up to 10 users are free; larger sites start with a 30-day free trial.
  2. Open itIn Jira, go to Settings (the gear icon) → Apps and choose Ledgerstone in the sidebar. The first time, Jira asks you to let Ledgerstone read Jira as you; accept to continue.
  3. First auditWith no audit on record, Ledgerstone takes the first snapshot as soon as the page opens ("Running your first audit"). It takes a few seconds. After that the audit runs on its own once a week.
  4. Fix and re-checkStart with High findings. After a fix, Refresh re-reads everything from Jira, and Run snapshot now runs the weekly audit immediately and adds the result to the trend.

Documentation

What each part shows

OverviewA verdict line; counts of High findings, Medium findings, items that could not be verified, and objects scanned; findings by area, each with an Open link to its tab. Below it, the weekly trend: the last 12 runs and what changed since the previous one.
Permission schemesEvery permission scheme and the projects that use it, then each flagged grant: the permission and who it is granted to.
Filters & dashboardsSaved filters and dashboards shared publicly or with every logged-in user, with their owner and share settings.
Roles, groups & usersProject role assignments, administrative and default-access groups with their members and inactive accounts, and account counts by type.
Access checkThe same minimal reads made as the app (the weekly job) and as you (this page), so you can see what Ledgerstone can read and spot any gap in coverage.
RatingsHigh: public, admin-level for everyone, or an inactive admin. Medium: every logged-in or licensed user. Could not verify: an area that was not fully read, for example after a time limit.
LicenceWithout an active licence or trial, Ledgerstone shows "Ledgerstone is not licensed on this site" with a link to Manage apps, and the page reads nothing from Jira.
Data and uninstallLedgerstone keeps counts for its last 12 runs and, for the latest run only, configuration names (schemes, filters, dashboards, groups, roles), in Atlassian's cloud with your site's data residency. People's names are shown live and never stored. Uninstalling deletes what it stored, under Atlassian's Forge data lifecycle.

Every rule, limit and permission is explained in the full guide. Prefer to check your site by hand first? Use the free Jira permission audit checklist. Questions? See Support or write to support@monaidea.com. We reply within two business days.
